Single minute exchange of die project

SMED stands for Single-Minute Exchange of Die. The SMED system is a theory and set of techniques that make it possible to perform equipment setup and changeover operations in fewer than 10 minutes – in other words, in the single-minute range. SMED principles can be used and applied in almost any operation or process.
It depends on many skills such as;
. Process mapping
. Design flow
Define added - value activities
. Document reality

Value-stream mapping, also known as "material- and information-flow mapping", is a lean-management method for analyzing the current state and designing a future state for the series of events that take a product or service from the beginning of the specific process until it reaches the customer.
It provides us with an overview of the processes that help us to define value added and non-value added activities, its a start point to launch improvements projects.
